Water balloon candle holders

These are so awesome! I made these with an old candle that I re-melted down in the jar and then poured into a double boiler. You could make these with colored wax ( for the up coming holidays!).
The instructions are shown in the picture but i will write them out.

1- Fill water balloons with water, fill as many as you need ( you will be popping them)
2- Dip water balloon in the already melted wax that is in the double boiler, let the first layer dry. To get the flat bottom on the candle holder hold the balloon lightly on a sheet of wax paper until dry.
3- dip again, do this until you have the desired wax thickness. Make sure you flatten the bottom EVERY time you dip the balloon.
4- After all the layers of wax are completely dry hold the base of the candle holder with scissors or a needle in the other hand, pop the water balloon and remove from the inside.

Hot or cold rice bags

Rice hot/cold packs tutorial.

With the winter weather coming, everyone will start thinking warm thoughts. Help your loved ones out a little bit by making them a rice bag! I have made these many times and i love them they are very easy and a fun gift to give. Make sure you buy cotton material, others might melt in the microwave ( I am speaking from experience its not fun nor does it smell good). Not only are these nice for when you get a chill or when you want to be cozy, but they make for great ice packs! I used mine when i got my wisdom teeth removed and it was a nice substitute for the very hard ice pack. Just pop in the freezer ( or keep some handy in a Ziploc) I recommend over night so it stays cold, and you got yourself a bendable ice pack.

Here's the link to the website I found this:
   http://beeinmybonnetco.blogspot.com/2012/01/hotcold-bags-tutorial.html

And you can make them whatever size you want it really does not matter, just don't go over bored remember it has to fit in the microwave!
Hope you enjoy.

Lace ball lamp

Lace lamp
This is a very pretty craft and very simple to do, it would look great in the corner with other sized ones.
I will post  the instructions.

Lace doily lamp
Instructions:
1- Get a ball in your desired size, cover in plastic wrap (the one shown is an exercise ball)
2- Buy or use old lace doily's (size does not matter just enough to cover the ball completely)
3- Buy mod podge ( at craft store)
4- Pick your first doily place on the ball and brush mod podge making sure the lace is flat on the surface of the ball. (make sure you leave room at the top for the light to go into)
5- After the ball is covered with the doily's let it sit and dry ( read the mod podge bottle for drying times)
6- After the lace is dry and hard, pop the ball, balloon, ETC. remove carefully from the hole at the top of the piece.
7- add lighting to the top, and hang in the desired area.
** You could make these so they are just an ornamental piece if you want/don't want to buy the light. But keep the hole at the top so you can pull out the balloon or ball.

Ice marbles

Fill balloons with water and add food coloring; once frozen, cut the balloons off & they look like giant marbles. Awesome!

this is so simple, yet so cool fill a balloon with water and food coloring and freeze! done and you have something that looks awesome.
You could also use a cleaned out balloon(so non of that powder is in or on it) and fill it with juice, and float it in a punch bowl for a party or just a water one that it colored.
Anyway, there's the link.... i love these so much (they would be fun in the snow!)

Have fun crafting! and
Happy Holidays!

plastic spoon mirror

This is a DIY craft that i found on Pinterest, it is made with cardboard, plastic spoons, spray paint and a store bought mirror. Its almost too simple, but it is totally functional and stylish as well. You could use multiple colors crating a rainbow effect, or you could just do the ombré. Ombré simply means to shade, or shading which you can see is happening with the blues going from light to dark. i will posy the a link to the actual website, but i will also post instructions in my own words (might be more simple, but if not there is the original website)

Mirror made of spoons!
steps:

1- cut cardboard into a medium sized circle piece.
2-start gluing plastic spoon heads starting with the smallest circle, it is easier to do this with the piece upside down.
3-flip frame over when done gluing spoons (make sure it is completely dry.)
4- spray paint entire frame with one solid color of your choosing (in this mirror it is the lightest blue.)
5-then spray middle area with a darker color than the base coat.
6-hand paint the innermost circle with the darkest of your colors. (the dark blue)
7- Finally, place your mirror and secure with hot glue or another method you find suitable.

then you've got yourself a mirror!
